"... I do make tracks without a reference track as well. I think about what I want people to hear or feel when they listen to a track, and I try to create a track which embodies those emotions. Emotion is always tricky. For me they’re extremely transient. I’ll feel angry one day and start a track, but then the next day I won’t feel the same way so the track stays unfinished. There are emotions about certain topics that linger because they’re complicated. For example, how I feel about my country. That’s something that has been around for years. I wouldn’t say it’s bottled up because I do talk about it all the time, but it’s something that I can’t sum up in a sentence. Those kinds of emotions are good sources of inspiration, I think."
