Description

Michaël Attias is an Israeli, jazz - saxophonist who lives in the United States. Attias, whose parents were from Morocco, grew up in Paris and Minneapolis, and began to study jazzmusics at the age of 15 with the help of Nat Hentoff's jazz book and Ornette Coleman's album The Shape of Jazz to Come (1959). He taught at Alan Silva in Paris and at the Wesleyan University with Anthony Braxton at the beginning of the 1990s . At the beginning of his career he worked with Anthony Braxton (whose piano quartet and orchestra he belonged to), Bruce Eisenbeil and Fred Lonberg-Holm ( Joy of Being 1997).
