Sasha Mashin was born in 1976 in St. Petersburg, Russia. In 1991 he joined the Kvadrat jazz-club where he met many jazz musicians of St. Petersburg. After studying for two months at the Musorgsky Music School, he decided to start his professional career as an artist and quit the school.
