Description

"Untold Stories", a series where we feature new remixes & interpretations of our catalogue, that weren't part of the original release, giving it a new light, a new story. For our second edition, we welcome Aman Anand, JimiJ, Subandrio, Nishan Lee & Nicolas Petracca to do the honors.

Kicking the release off is Aman Anand, based in both Singapore and Bangalore (India), as he presents his interpretation of Blusoul 'Depth of Emotion'. With a great number of productions appearing on a vast number of great labels like Sudbeat, Genesis, Spaghetti Monster, Soundteller and the likes, it's no surprise that Aman's been quite busy in the studio. He takes on a new 'rabbit-hole' approach with a deeper, dubbier but still atmospheric take on Blusoul's original. Utilizing low slung basslines, chord stabs and clean percussions to push the groove along while bits of the original peak in, accompanied by his own soundscapes.

Treating Tommi Oskari's "Mind Tingle" is James Smith, aka JimiJ, from Perth (Australia). His earlier progressive style found him on quality imprints like Inkfish, Perspectives Digital and Electronic Elements (to name a few), but as we all do, he dug deeper as time went along. For this particular remix, he's completely twisted the original mood and taken it to a deeper territory, some might say it's somewhere with the bedouins. An arabesque tone embodies the track as it lays on a foundation of chunky & tight grooves.

Next up is Sri Lankan compadres - Subandrio & Nishan Lee, as they collaboratively remix Tommi Oskari's, you guessed it, "Sri Lanka". Subandrio's signature 'driving' productions have been in demand, featuring on labels like Perspectives Digital, Replug, J00F Aura and even our very own Juicebox Music earlier this year with his 'Lost In Sigiriya' EP. Nishan has been a leading force and inspiration towards the development of quality deep progressive in his home country - Sri Lanka. He's been honing his production skills over the past few years and this debut collaboration sees a peek of his progress. Both Subandrio & Nishan's driving, percussive & groove-based musical persona is imprinted all over the remix, sprinkled with icy riffs and bursts of the original lead.

Finally, Argentina's very own - Nicolas Petracca comes in to remix Tanseer's 'Both Sides'. With chart-topping productions on Dopamine, Stellar Fountain, PHW Elements and more, Nicolas' has been one of stand out producers that's been on the underground radar by many. His signature tough-groove, with ethereal & dreamy sonics translates perfectly on club-floors and radio alike. He's delivered just that with his rendition of 'Both Sides', a heavily percussive groove consistently building up with harmonious layers, eventually converging into a chaotic cacophonic peak before setting back into the tough chugging rhythm.
