KONE WINS 139-UNIT ORDER FOR QATAR TRANSIT SYSTEM
KONE has won an order to provide 49 elevators, 82 escalators and eight moving walks to the Lusail Light Rail Transit system under construction in Lusail, Qatar. Expected to commence operations in 2018, the system will connect to Doha's metro network on Khor Highway and have 10 km of underground track, four main lines at ground level, elevated tracks and stations. Developed by Qatar Rail, the system is expected to serve approximately 250,000 Lusail residents and 40,000 visitors daily.

LEWIS LEADING EKLUND’S WESTERN REGION
Eklund's, Inc. has named Ryan Lewis director of Business Development — Western Region, which encompasses California, Arizona, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, New Mexico, Colorado and Hawaii. He will work with elevator companies, property managers/owners, general contractors, architects and elevator consultants throughout the region to grow Eklund's custom-cab interior business. Lewis has extensive business development and sales management experience and held several management positions in the vertical-transportation industry prior to joining Eklund's.

APARTMENT TOWERS FOR NYC’S BROOKLYN BRIDGE PARK
Brooklyn Bridge Park Corp. has filed applications to build 30- and 16-story apartment towers at 50 and 15 Bridge Park Drive, respectively, on Pier 6 in New York City (NYC), New York YIMBY reports. ODA is the architect and RAL Development and Oliver Realty Group are the co-developers. The park corporation had originally approved 14- and 16-story towers containing nearly 340 apartments. Plans for the new, taller buildings include a total of 265 relatively large apartments and amenities such as retail, a dog-washing station, gym and lounge.
