AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND'S TALLEST TOWER TOPS OUT
Commercial Bay, a huge project that includes the tallest building in Auckland, New Zealand, has made considerable progress, the New Zealand Herald reports. The centerpiece, 39-story office building has topped out and is expected to open in December, according to developer Precinct. The tower was designed by Warren & Mahoney and holds 39,000 m2 of space. The building’s restroom facilities and glass elevators were placed on the south side to maximize waterfront views for the north-facing offices. The NZD1-billion (US$675.5-million) project will also bring a 120-shop retail mall, an indoor/outdoor dining and bar district, a new network of underground train tunnels and a five-star hotel to the Auckland waterfront.
