CROSSRAIL ESCALATOR INSTALLATION PAST HALFWAY POINT
More than half the escalators at stations on London's new Crossrail railway line, which will become Elizabeth Line in December 2018, have been installed, marking a milestone for the project, various news outlets, including Rail Technology Magazine, report. At the Canary Wharf station, 17 escalators have been installed, with the framework for an additional 37 units complete at Paddington, Bond Street, Tottenham, Court Road, Farrington and Liverpool Street. This represents a total length of approximately 1.6 km of what will eventually be nearly 3 km and 81 escalators. All 40 stations will also have elevators. RENDERINGS OF NYC OFFICE TOWER REVEAL CHUNKY PROFILE
Renderings released of 50 Hudson Yards, set to take shape next to the rising 15, 30, 35 and 55 Hudson Yards towers in New York City’s (NYC) Midtown West, reveal a profile resembling a chunky obelisk that New York YIMBY fears could "visually overwhelm" its neighbors. At full buildout, which is expected in 2022, 50 Hudson Yards will stand 300 m and contain approximately 2.9 million sq. ft. Related is Hudson Yards' developer, and, for 50 Hudson Yards, Norman Foster is the design architect, and Adamson Associates is the architect of record. The source observes the building will be the bulkiest new office building in Manhattan by far.
