VANCOUVER ELEVATOR SEEN AS “DESTINATION”
Managers of Vancouver, Canada's Granville Island are promoting a plan to install an elevator that would lower visitors from a pedestrian bridge to the heart of the popular shopping district, the Vancouver Sun reported. CMHC-Granville Island, the company that oversees the island adjacent to downtown Vancouver, envisions a redevelopment that would include easy pedestrian access, which would fuel a renewed market, arts and innovation district. “The elevator would become a destination in itself, attracting new visitors to Granville Island," said a report released by CMHC-Granville Island.

He has been chief elevator inspector since 2015 and a state employee for 30 years. Utah officials said there are 10,000 elevators in the state, of which approximately 8,600 are considered “active” and subject to inspections every two years by Gibson’s division.
