“SHOW-STOPPING” OFFICE TOWER RISING OUTSIDE PARIS
What is being described by anchor tenant Saint-Gobain as a “show-stopping” 39-story, 178-m-tall office tower, designed by Valode & Pistre Architects, is set to rise just west of the Paris city limits in the La Défense business district, SkyRise Cities reports. The glassy building will feature a boxy, transparent crown that will provide views into and out of a rooftop garden. Greenspace will be interspersed throughout the building, which, in addition to 48,600 m2 of office space, will have 400 m2 of retail. Developed by Italian insurance company Generali Group and Hines, the structure is scheduled for completion in 2019.
RESIDENTIAL TOWER WILL OFFER “EPIC” VIEWS IN MIDTOWN NYC
When residents move into Madison Square Park Tower later this year, they will enjoy what the property’s website describes as “epic 360˚ views” of New York City (NYC) landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building from what will be the tallest building in the Flatiron District at 65 stories and 777 ft., dezeen reports. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, which has several other projects underway in NYC, the building is located at 45 East 22nd Street and will be among the new breed of super-slender towers rising across the city. It contains 83 units with floor-to-ceiling windows.
ESCALATOR INSTALLATION DELAYED AT BUSY INDIAN STATION
Installation of escalators at Erode Junction in southern India is delayed, causing inconvenience for passengers who have difficulty walking approximately 100 m, then climbing stairs to reach platforms, The Hindu reports. Completion was originally anticipated in December 2016, but is now expected sometime in the spring. More than 100 trains cross the station’s four platforms, which are traversed by thousands of passengers each day.
