TRADE CENTER WOULD INCLUDE PERTH’S TALLEST SKYSCRAPER
Private developers backed by the Australian government plan to build a world trade center that includes towers of 75 and 36 stories in Perth, Australia, near the city's main railway station, msn reports. The 75-story structure would be the city's largest and tallest building, and the overall project, situated on 1.9 ha, would also have commercial, residential and entertainment components. Australian Premier Colin Barnett said he is confident the development will stimulate the economy of Perth and beyond. No timeframe was given, but the developer has begun to acquire land.
MASSPORT OBJECTS TO PROPOSED BOSTON TOWER HEIGHT
The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) objects to the 775-ft. height of a 60-story tower Millennium Partners has proposed on the site of a parking garage at Winthrop Square in Boston, maintaining it would obstruct flight patterns and lead to noisy air traffic over the suburbs, The Boston Globe reports. The site is approximately two miles west of Logan International Airport. Anything taller than 710 ft. would be objected to by Massport, but Millennium Partners has suggested it can be flexible on height.
