SALESFORCE HAS DESIGNS ON PLANNED CHICAGO SKYSCRAPER
Software giant Salesforce wants to bring up to 5,000 jobs to Chicago and anchor the up-to-950-ft.-tall Wolf Point South tower, one of three being planned by Hines as part of the Wolf Point development at the confluence of the North and East branches of the Chicago River, Crain’s reports. Salesforce wants to grow its Midwest presence with the new location, which would be more than three times the size of its current Chicago office at 111 West Illinois Street that houses approximately 1,000 employees. However, several contentious details would have to be worked out first, perhaps most notably obtaining city permission to erect “extremely extensive” signage on the skyscraper that includes a video wall — a move that would go directly against an ordinance preventing ostentatious signage enacted in 2014 in response to the “Trump” sign on the Trump International Hotel & Tower.
DEVELOPER BREAKS GROUND ON CAMBODIA’S FUTURE TALLEST
Representatives of China's Overseas Cambodian Investment Corp. (OCIC) and government officials gathered in Diamond Island, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on August 18 for a groundbreaking ceremony for Morgan Tower, which promises to become Cambodia's tallest building at 46 stories, Khmer Times reports. The 210-m-tall structure will contain offices, a hotel, a restaurant and a sky bar, and will have an energy-efficient design. OCIC Chairman Okhna Pung Kheav Se said Cambodia's economic policies are sound, and that the kingdom will soon have "hundreds of high-rise buildings." Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Hor Namhong added that China continues to invest heavily in Cambodia — not just in buildings, but also infrastructure such as roads and bridges.

At the top, the structure returns to a simple block design. Also including 18,000 sq. ft. of publicly accessible areas, the project is being developed by Tishman Speyer and targeting Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification.
INDIAN RAIL OFFICIAL: TAKE CARE WITH SENIORS ON ESCALATORS
An official at a railway station serving passengers in Bhubaneswar, the capital of the Indian state of Odisha in eastern India, urged relatives of senior citizens to accompany them on escalators, following an incident on August 22 in which an elderly woman fell and suffered minor injuries to her leg, The Telegraph reports. Bhubaneswar Railway Station has heavy daily footfall of approximately 80,000, with 200 trains leaving or passing through each day. There are two escalators, as well as a foot overbridge that was inaugurated in June. However, one of the escalators is out of service.
