HITACHI ELEVATOR RECEIVES BIGGEST THAILAND ORDER TO DATE
Hitachi Elevator (Thailand) Co., Ltd. received its biggest order to date in Thailand to supply 53 elevators, 83 escalators and 38 moving walks to an expansion of Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Samut Prakan Province. Hitachi Thailand previously supplied more than 100 units to the airport, which resulted in the recent order from consortium PCS Joint Venture. In Thailand since 1974, Hitachi observed demand for elevators and escalators in the country is approximately 6,000 units per year, making it "the most promising market in southeast Asia." Being undertaken by Airport of Thailand Public Co. Ltd., the expansion includes a new four-story satellite concourse slated to open in April 2020. The new units will be manufactured at factories in Thailand and China prior to installation by the end of 2020.
