HYATT HOUSE HOTEL TOPS OUT IN NYC
A 32-story, 300-ft.-tall Hyatt House hotel at 101 West 28th Street in New York City (NYC) has topped out, and exterior work is almost complete, New York YIMBY reports. The building was designed by Nobutaka Ashihara and features floor-to-ceiling windows, exposed floorplates, setbacks at the crown and wraparound windows on the north corners. Set to contain approximately 150 rooms and apartment-style suites, the building is situated on edge of several NYC neighborhoods, including NoMad (North of Madison Square Park), the Flower District, Chelsea and Midtown South.

“SKINNY SHARD” PLANNED IN WEST LONDON
Irvine Sellar, the real-estate mogul behind The Shard in London, now has his sights set on Paddington in West London, where he hopes to build a 65-story, 224-m-tall mixed-use skyscraper that promises to revitalize a neglected area, the Evening Standard reports. Scheduled for completion in 2020 if approved, the cylindrical, crystal-like tower at 31 West London Street would have residences, offices, upper-floor restaurants and a rooftop garden inspired by Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew in the U.K. The plan is being backed by Singapore's Hotel Properties. The structure was designed by Renzo Piano. If built, it will be among the tallest in the city.
