CANNY AWARDED MAJOR WORK IN IRAN, RUSSIA
In line with efforts to expand overseas, Canny has won major work in Iran and Russia. The Chinese OEM is providing 101 public-transit escalators to Iran Shiraz Metro Line 1, covering 14 stations, and 25 elevators and escalators to the expansion of Yemelyanovo International Airport in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. The airport expansion is scheduled to start service this year. The Shiraz metro project follows Canny providing 191 units to the Isfahan Metro Line 1 and 24 units to Mashhad Metro Line 1. Canny states that this, along with the Shiraz metro work, establishes the company's position in the market that promises to stretch into neighboring areas such as west Asia and North Africa.
BULFINCH CROSSING UNDERWAY IN BOSTON
Construction has begun on Bulfinch Crossing, a 2.9-million-sq.-ft. mixed-use project in Boston. Commercial Property Executive reported that developers National Real Estate Advisors LLC and The HYM Investment Group LLC joined local leaders to celebrate the US$1.5-billion undertaking, beginning to transform two full city blocks downtown. Ultimately, it will feature six buildings, including the 1-million-sq.-ft.-plus One Congress office at 43 stories and the tallest apartment rental tower in Boston at 45 stories. More than 1,200 construction jobs are expected to be created for work on the development, which is expected to take five to 10 years.
MANCHESTER RESIDENTIAL TOWER GETS FUNDING, MOVES FORWARD
A US$100-million loan has been secured by Moda Living from a German bank to build a 34-story tower in the Angel Gardens development in Manchester, U.K., representing the first residential skyscraper to be built outside London since the 2008 financial crisis, About Manchester reports. The development will contain approximately 460 rental units within 520,000 sq. ft., along with amenities such as a rooftop garden, fitness areas and concierge services. It will be built in phases from 2019 to 2020. Moda Living plans to both build and operate the property.

VFA-Interlift e.V., organizer of Interlift 2017, taking place in Augsburg, Germany, on October 17-20, has announced the proportion of new exhibitors "is unusually high among the 350 registrations received" as of January 13.
