KAZAKHSTAN’S GRAND MOSQUE UPDATE
Liftinstituut Solutions announced it will be conducting traffic simulations to assist the design process of the Grand Mosque in Astana, Kazakhstan. It will also oversee and advise in the tender stage by preparing tender documents, comparing offers and crosschecking shop drawings. One of the largest mosques in the world, it includes a wedding hall, a conference hall, a library, classrooms, a museum and retail stores. Its 62-m-diameter dome is 88.2 m tall and can accommodate 18,000 worshipers. The temple complex’s 13 elevators and four escalators bring people from the underground parking space to the main floor and female praying hall on the upper floor. There is also an elevator in one of the minarets to carry the priest to the upper balcony. It is under construction with an opening planned for December 2020.
