MORE TEI ORDERS IN NYC
TEI Group is to install four overhead gearless traction elevators and two hydraulic elevators at the 32-story Bryant Park Hotel and apartment building in Midtown New York City (NYC). In the Meatpacking District, TEI was contracted by Triton Construction to install three overhead gearless traction elevators, one machine-room-less (MRL) elevator, two hydraulic elevators and one material lift at 413-435 West 14th Street. In Manhattan, Bravo Builders hired the company to install two gearless traction, one MRL, one hydraulic and two residential elevators at the 20 East End Avenue condominium project. In SoHo, TEI was awarded a contract with Exa USA Corp. to install one custom glass hydraulic elevator and two dumbwaiters for Dolce & Gabbana at 155 Mercer Street. The Italian luxury retailer is opening another store in Manhattan, taking over all four levels of a SoHo building.
30 ESCALATORS FOR NEW BANGALORE METRO STATION
Thirty escalators are among amenities at the new Majestic station, a key part of a major expansion of the Namma Metro in Bangalore, India, The Hindu reports. Earlier in 2016, 20 of the units had been installed at the station, which will have both street and underground levels. In January, metro officials expected the expansion to be operational in June 2016. They expect the Majestic station to handle up to 20,000 passengers daily and equipment (including the escalators) to last approximately 50 years.

Continued urbanization is expected to drive a compound annual growth rate of 12.23% in terms of new units installed over that timeframe, with elevator time management and passenger comfort being a particular focus of major players such as Otis and thyssenkrupp.
