ELEVATOR WORLD HOSTS AGM IN MOBILE
Elevator World, Inc. welcomed board members during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on May 5 at The Admiral Hotel in Mobile, Alabama. In addition to company officers, the following attended: Gina McKellar, financial advisor, Crow Shields Bailey PC; Jonathan Charest, financial planner, Charest Co., LLP; Jim Green, attorney, Wright, Green, P.C.; John Koshak, Elevator Safety Solutions, LLC, Collierville, Tennessee; Robert Lane, Elevator Motors Corp., Farmingdale, New York; Martha Hulgan, MMH & Associates LLC, Chattanooga, Tennessee; Massimo Bezzi, ICM Lift Components, Trento, Italy; Achim Hütter, Achim Hütter Consulting, Hamburg, Germany; Bülent Yilmaz, managing director of ELEVATOR WORLD Turkey and ELEVATOR WORLD Middle East and TAK Mathews, TAK Consulting Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai. The purpose of the meeting was to plan for the coming year for all EW magazines and educational publications. In addition to the meeting, board members enjoyed a cocktail reception with the other Elevator World staff at Elevator World’s Midtown Mobile headquarters.
ORONA: ACQUISITION, PROJECTS AT AGM
Hernani, Spain-based manufacturer Orona announced the approval of its 2016 financial statements and other items at its annual general meeting (AGM) in March. It also stated it had recently acquired Myhre Heis AS, an Oslo, Norway-based company with 38 years of experience in the industry. With its 33rd subsidiary, Orona expects its revenues to be in the range of EUR27 million (US$30 million) in Norway, where it already has nine offices and nearly 130 employees. The acquisition is indicative of its “Orona-UE” project, which is intended to strengthen the cooperative’s commitment to keep growing in Europe. Additionally, through its "Fabrika 4.0" project, the company has installed an intelligent manufacturing system at its Hernani facilities.
REBRANDED SEATTLE TOWER EYES 2019 COMPLETION
A 41-story, mixed-use tower taking shape in downtown Seattle has been rebranded Arrivé and is scheduled for delivery in early 2019, Commercial Property ExecutiveTM reports. Formerly called Potala, the structure is being developed by Molasky Group and Binjiang Tower Corp. and will have ground-level retail, a hotel, apartments and below-grade parking. It is located at 2116 Fourth Avenue and was designed by Seattle firm Weber Thompson. Describing Arrivé as one of the first for-rent mixed-use properties in Seattle, Mike Doran, vice president of development and construction at Molasky Group, said the tower is positioned to take advantage of the reemergence of the Belltown neighborhood.
