SLEEK, NEW LOOK FOR QUÉBEC CITY’S FUTURE TALLEST
A 185,800-m2, four-building development in suburban Québec City, Canada, will feature a sleek, thin 65-story tower designed by Alpha Architects and Gensler that will be the tallest in Québec at 250 m, SkyRiseCities reports. Groupe Dallaire unveiled the plans on November 15, and they could be tweaked further pending public review. Le Phare de Québec is set to house residential, commercial, office, retail and hotel space. If all goes well, Dallaire hopes to start construction in early 2017 on the main tower, which is expected to take approximately four years to complete. The other towers are expected to be built over a six-year period.
FINAL TWO SKYSCRAPERS FOR MOSCOW CITY
Renaissance Development aims to complete Neva Towers, the final two skyscrapers in Moscow's International Business Center (Moscow City), by 2019, ArchDaily reports. Designed by a team consisting of HOK and FXFOWLE of the U.S. and SPEECH of Russia, the project boasts a 77-story residential and 63-story residential/office tower sitting atop a four-story podium. Together, they are expected to add more than 1,200 new apartments to Moscow City, which is home to many of Europe's tallest buildings. According to Renaissance, "the shape of the flat high-rise buildings is modified by slight shifts of the central parts, forming a sort of core of the towers."
MUMBAI COMPANY PLANS DUBAI RESIDENTIAL SKYSCRAPER
Mumbai-based Shapoorji Pallonji Real Estate is planning its first development outside India in the form of Imperial Avenue, a US$350-million, 45-story residential tower in Dubai's Business Bay, The National reports. The company ultimately hopes to build up to six towers spanning 5 million sq. ft. and, in the future, form partnerships for projects in areas such as The Palm and Dubai Canal. Piling work is underway on Imperial Avenue, set to include approximately 420 apartments; six larger, upper-level residences; five floors of parking; and amenities such as an infinity pool and children's play areas.
