KONE PROVIDING SOLUTIONS FOR JAKARTA’S INDONESIA1
KONE has been selected to provide 76 elevators and escalators to Indonesia1, a pair of 58-story, 278-m-tall mixed-used towers taking shape in Jakarta, Indonesia. Developed by China Sonangol Media Investment and scheduled for completion in 2019, the development will contain offices, serviced apartments and commercial space within 2.2 million sq. ft. Among the tallest buildings in Indonesia, Indonesia1 will have 44 MiniSpace® and 14 MonoSpace® elevators and 18 TravelMaster 110 escalators, along with the Polaris destination-control system. All equipment will be connected to the E-LinkTM remote-monitoring system.
 
LOTTE WORLD TOWER PRIMED FOR OPENING
Lotte World Tower, South Korea’s tallest building, has been unveiled ahead of its grand opening to the public on April 3, The Korea Herald recently reported. Standing 555 m (123 floors) in Seoul, it has been under construction since 2010. It is part of the larger Lotte World project, including an existing amusement park and mall. According to the report, its “Seoul Sky” is the third-highest observation deck in the world, holding three Guinness World Records: highest glass-floor observation deck, fastest double-deck elevator and longest distance traveled via double-deck elevator. The two “Sky Shuttle” elevators run at 600 mpm with a joint capacity of just over 100 people.
 
37-STORY RENAISSANCE HOTEL RISING IN NYC’S CHELSEA
A 37-story, 432-ft.-tall Marriott Renaissance hotel designed by Financial District architect Nobutaka Ashihara has reached two stories above ground at 112 West 25th Street in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City (NYC), New York YIMBY reports. Encompassing 181,998 sq. ft., the building is set to have 330 hotel rooms with restaurants on the ground and 36th floors. Lam Group is the developer, and completion is anticipated in 2018.

DEVELOPER PLANS MELBOURNE TOWER, HISTORIC REVAMP
Developer RJ International hopes to build a 39-story, 145-m-tall apartment/hotel tower in Melbourne, Australia, that would include the refurbishment of the historic Tea House on Clarendon Street, Urban Melbourne reports. Australian architect CLWA designed a glassy, elliptical structure that would include approximately 310 hotel rooms, 40 apartments and hidden parking. The site adjoins the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, and the project includes restoration of the original façade of the Tea House, built in 1887 and on the Victorian Heritage Register.
