62-STORY APARTMENT BUILDING PLANNED ON NYC WATERFRONT
Starrett Corp. plans to build a 62-story, 724-ft.-tall apartment building designed by Perkins Eastman at 259 Clinton Street in the Two Bridges neighborhood on New York City’s (NYC) waterfront, adding to activity in a Lower East Side area that has at least four major towers in the works, Curbed New York reports. The Starrett project would contain approximately 730 apartments, including more than 180 "affordable" ones, along with ground-level retail. If all goes well, Starrett will start construction in 2018. Residents are concerned about this and other planned towers, fearing displacement and alteration of the neighborhood’s character.

One Hundred, a 36-story, 385-ft.-tall tower in St. Louis' Central West End is expected to start taking shape within a year and be complete by 2019, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. The developer is Mac Properties of Englewood, New Jersey, and the architect is Chicago-based Studio Gang, which designed a tiered, glassy structure reminiscent of leaves on Kingshighway. It will be the tallest residential building in the City of St. Louis, although the tallest residential building in the metro area will remain the 409-ft.-tall Clayton Tower in Clayton. Making the most of natural light, apartments will sit atop a five-story base containing parking, retail and amenities.
