THYSSENKRUPP, PARTNERS SUPPLY NAIROBI HOTEL, MARKET
Joining forces with strategic distribution partners, thyssenkrupp supplied 35 units to the Greenhill Hotel and Village Market in Nairobi, Kenya, which thyssenkrupp describes as an up-and-coming market. The order consisted of 20 escalators and 15 elevators. Noting that Nairobi has been listed among the top 10 most dynamic cities in the world, thyssenkrupp said its collaboration partners managed the project, which “allowed us to provide cutting-edge technology and vital infrastructure to make a real difference, even though we have no field presence there.”

DETROIT TOWER INTENDED TO SIGNAL CITY’S REBIRTH
The City of Detroit's Downtown Development Authority has approved a plan to build a 52-story, 734-ft.-tall mixed-use tower designed by New York City's SHoP Architects and Detroit's Hamilton Anderson Associates that would be the tallest in the city and, ideally, signal Detroit's rebirth, Architect's Newspaper reports. Developed by Detroit's Bedrock on the former Woodward Avenue site of Hudson's department store, at one time the tallest department store in the world, the project would include residences, retail and parking built around what SHoP Principal William Sharples calls "a huge and inspiring new public space." If all goes as planned, groundbreaking will take place on December 1.
