THYSSENKRUPP AIMING FOR LEED v4 CERTIFICATION IN ATLANTA
thyssenkrupp is aiming for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) v4 certification for its Atlanta-based Innovation and Qualification Center, its new North American headquarters that includes a 420-ft-tall elevator test tower, the tallest in the Western Hemisphere. According to the U.S. Green Building Council, v4 is “a more flexible, performance-based approach that calls for measurable results throughout a building’s lifecycle.” thyssenkrupp observed it has already been recognized for its leadership in achieving v4. In addition to the test tower, scheduled for completion in 2021, the new facility includes the Business Headquarters, into which employees began moving in in March, and the Corporate Headquarters, slated for completion in 2021. Near The Battery Atlanta, the headquarters will ultimately be home to approximately 900 employees.
