THYSSENKRUPP BREAKS GROUND ON IQC, PART OF ATLANTA HQ
thyssenkrupp broke ground on April 18 on its new Innovation and Qualification Center (IQC), part of a complex in metro Atlanta that will serve as its North American headquarters and include a 420-ft.-tall elevator test tower that will be the tallest of its kind in the U.S. upon completion in 2021. Joining test towers in Rottweil, Germany, and Zhongshan, China, the tower will anchor the new headquarters next to SunTrust Park. Its will be used to test new products including high-speed elevators and the TWIN and upcoming MULTI elevator systems. Including a new corporate headquarters, the property, owned by the Atlanta Braves Development Co., will consolidate U.S. sites into one location and employ more than 900.
