LIFTINSTITUUT PRESENTATION ON PESSRAL, PESSRAE
Liftinstituut will discuss the subject of Programmable Electronic Systems in Safety Related Applications for Lifts (PESSRAL) and Programmable Electronic Systems in Safety Related Applications for Escalators (PESSRAE) standards, which are increasingly being used in safety-related applications for lifts and escalators. Liftinstituut believes the current lift and escalator standards are insufficiently clear and require further elaboration. The standards do not yet include requirements for calculating failure rates, which Liftinstituut states are needed to check whether a design meets the required Safety Integrity Level class stipulated by the standard. The subject will be covered in detail by Liftinstituut PESSRAL specialist Ing. Tijmen Molema on May 10 during Elevcon in Madrid.
