CHANGES AT THE TOP AT SCHINDLER
Alfred N. Schindler, great-grandson of the cofounder of Schindler, Robert Schindler, announced that he plans to step down as chairman of the Swiss OEM in 2017, prompting upper-management promotions. Current Chief Executive Silvio Napoli becomes a board member and chairman designate. Napoli will be replaced in April 2016 by Thomas Oetterli, head of Schindler's operations in China since 2013. Alfred Schindler will remain a board member, a position he has held for 40 years. Schindler said it is confident in its succession plan, since the executives have more than 20 years of experience each.

HET SUPPLYING MAJOR ISTANBUL PROJECT
Hyundai Elevator Turkey (HET) is providing 39 elevators, 22 escalators and four moving walks to Water Garden Istanbul, a mixed-use "gastronomy center" set to open in the second quarter of 2016 in the International Istanbul Finance Center in the Atasehir part of Istanbul. The development includes a shopping mall, 15,000-m2 park, restaurants, movie theaters, art galleries and aquatic performance areas. HET believes securing this contract strengthens its position in the emerging financial center, home to 560,000 m2 of office, 90,000 m2 of retail and 60,000 m2 of residential space, along with a 2,000-seat conference center, two mosques, schools and public services.
