WOMAN STUCK IN MANHATTAN ELEVATOR FOR WHOLE WEEKEND
A 53-year-old woman was stuck in an Upper East Side Manhattan, New York, elevator for more than two days, The New York Times reported. She was found in the five-story townhouse on the morning of January 28, having been stuck there since the evening of January 25. The elevator had stopped between the second and third floors, where firefighters forced open the doors to extract the woman. She was hospitalized in “good condition” and was said by the homeowners to be “doing well.” The unit was reportedly last inspected in July 2018 with no violations filed. An investigation is underway.
