ZIMBABWE ELEVATORS AILING

There are 1,387 registered elevators in Zimbabwe, and 707 are out of service. Inspections found that only 521, or 38%, comply with safety standards. In 2015, three major elevator accidents occurred with two fatalities. Mupfumira stated the condition of the country's elevators is a direct result of its struggling economy.
