1997 - CELEBRATIONS in the North Tipperary village of Terryglass were underway, following a victory after the scenic lakeshore village scooped four major awards in the National Tidy Towns competitions. And, the chairman of the village's local Tidy Towns committee, Mr Michael Comerford, has predicted that the celebrations will continue possibly until Tipperary brings home the All-Ireland senior hurling cup in a few days.
2009 - The number of assaults reported in Tipperary Town in the first eight months of this year was down. Inspector Paschal Feeney told members of the Joint Policing Committee of Tipperary Town Council. The Inspector told members that 40 assaults had been reported in 2009 compared with 49 in the first eight months of 2008. He was speaking during a discussion on the procedure for reporting incidents to An Garda Síochána.
