Description

What is it that makes the North Country so special? From North Creek to South Colton, from Old Forge to New Bremen, host Mitch Teich brings you interviews, on-site recordings, and special features that remind us what makes the region a special. WCNY Community FM is pleased to present North Words, from our colleagues at North Country Public Radio.

In this episode: Aron Lee Rosenberg explains how he came to live without the internet for a year, how it affected his life and the people around him, and how the experience shapes his life back online today. His journal of that fateful year makes up his book, "Jacked Out."

We meet the self-described "Poet Laureate of Dickinson Center." Jim Bourey came to his work as a published poet late in life, after a varied career in sales. He returned to his native North Country and has published several books of poetry, including his latest, a collaboration with Linda Blaskey called Season of Harvest. And we hear an in-studio performance with Upstate New York native Trevor Gordon Hall, on a unique instrument called a "kalimbatar."
