Description

Good evening, everyone … and welcome to Full Circle, your cultural affairs radio magazine, produced by members and graduates of the First Voice Apprenticeship Program, broadcasting from right here at KPFA in Huichin – occupied Ohlone territory – also known to settlers as Berkeley, California.

Tonight, we will be taking a look at a couple things, including Juneteenth celebrations around the Bay Area.

On tonight’s show:

• We’ll speak Anthony Randolf of Grace Arms of Antioch, and he’ll tell us about their Juneteenth event

• After that, we will hear a calendar of Juneteenth events happening around the Bay Area

• And in the second half of the show, we will be joined by Max Wilbert, author of "Bright Green Lies: How the Environmental Movement Lost Its Way and What We Can Do About It"

• And Daranda Hinkey will also be with us. She is a Fort McDermitt Paiute Shoshone tribal member, and part of the People of Red Mountain Group.

They will be joining us to talk about Peehee Mu’huh, AKA Thacker Pass, and a proposed lithium mine that is threatening sacred tribal lands near the Nevada/Oregon border.

That’s tonight on Full Circle.
