Good evening everyone and welcome to Full Circle your cultural affairs radio magazine. This show is written, produced, and recorded by members of the First Voice Apprenticeship Program in Huichin, Occupied Ohlone territory, also known to colonizers as the Bay Area.
Tonight’s broadcast is the first show in a series focused on healing racialized trauma in the Black American Community, today, you will hear an authentic conversation I recently had with: Debbie Hailu, program coordinator for “Telling our Stories” at Healthy Black families in Berkeley and Denzel Herrera-Davis, CEO/founder of Cr8 The Space in Oakland and creator of the “2ME4U” events. On tonight’s show, we’ll discuss some of the negative impacts Black People undergo from living in a racialized society, the healing power of Black people telling their stories in their own voices & their local Bay Area organizations that provide platforms for Black people to work out some of their trauma.
