Description

On tonight’s show we are remembering September 11th, and since I’m sure you will hear a lot about what happened in New York on this date, we are going to talk about what happened in Chile on September 11th of 1973.

On tonight’s show you’ll learn about what happened in Chile on that day, why it happened, why is it still important and how our bay area responded to it.

Tonight we will interview Chileans Fernando Torres and Hector Salgado.

We will also hear from Eric Leeson, one of the founders of La Peña Cultural Center in Berkeley.

Then, we will hear the voice of singer-songwriter Victor Jara and talk a bit about Nobel laureate, Pablo Neruda and his connection to the events.

Tonight we are also honored to have Fernando Torres, a Chilean musician and song-writer who lived in Chile at the time of their September 11th, back in 1973 and who was imprisoned and later exiled.
