Good evening America!
Welcome to Full Circle, your cultural affairs radio magazine produced by the First Voice Media Action Program with your host Shora Zamani.
Tonight we’ll hear from two visionaries that each use art and technology to push the boundaries of human communication and self-expression.
Our first guest, Jaron Lanier, is a computer scientist, musician, visual artist and bestselling author. He is often referred to as the father of virtual reality. Lanier joined me for a conversation about his latest book “Who owns the future?”. A critical look at how the rise of digital networks, and what Lanier calls “Siren Servers”,are shrinking our economy. One of
the interesting aspects of Lanier’s vision of a new information economy is that he was very much part of creating the world he now is trying to change.
Also we talk with Kendal Cronkhite. She’s a production designer at Dreamworks.
You know the company that had your kid AND yourself obsessing over Shrek and countless other crazy familiar wonderful characters. In fact Kendal Cronkhite was in charge of the visual look of the Madagscar movies.
