We have a very special show for you tonight-we will be taking you to one of Oakland’s most beloved and revolutionary festivals-the Malcolm X Jazz Arts Festival which took place on May 15th of this year. On tonight’s show... We will be talking to the people who made the festival possible as well as the various groups that were in attendance. We will also be exploring the themes celebrated this years celebration of both the Chicano Arts movement and the 50th anniversary of the Black Arts movement with a commentary by our very own jazz Griot Mr. Greg Bridges. We will also be playing excerpts from some speeches from the brother who the festival is named afte Malcolm X -And of course the music. We will be playing plenty of music from the festival
