I patched on four separate occasions and tore each one down. This one is the fifth, and I'm still not thrilled with it. However, polyphony on a modular is challenging, so I'm giving myself a small break. I settled on a major third for my chord, and then set about to creating it on the three oscillators I have in my modular synth which can create chords; Braids, Shapeshifter, and Patch Chord. I was forced to tune them by ear as I no longer have my Dave Jones O'Tool oscilloscope. This actually took the most time for me. I understand the appeal of monophony in monastic orders now. The next trick was figuring out how to morph from one oscillator to the next. For this I turned to Doc Oc and believe it or not, this is as slow as I could get it. Still sounds too quick in transitions for my ears. By slowly turning down the Q on it, I could slow things a bit more and make the chord hits less aggressive. I liked the sound of this, but in exploring, I eventually realized that with too little Q, the whole thing would stop moving altogether. Finicky.
