I can't help but think of Eddie Murphy as the Prince in "Coming to America" when I consider one of the more pleasant scenarios when being awakened. But, as I am not royalty (in the traditional sense) I instead imagine I could be quite happen being awakened to this peaceful chordal melody. I fired up the Oberheim Two-Voice and tuned each oscillator to one pitch in this unison chord. I then improvised a rising and falling pattern in real time. By utilizing the envelopes on the Obie to both modify the VCAs and the filters, there is a breathy sort of quality in the development of the rhythm over time. I associate this with the nebulous quality I often experience when transitioning from the dreamtime to the waking world.
