The Bickersons was a popular American radio show that aired from 1946 to 1951. The show starred Don Ameche and Frances Langford and followed the comedic misadventures of John and Blanche Bickerson, a married couple who bickered constantly. Each episode would typically begin with the couple settling into bed for the night, which would inevitably lead to a hilarious argument that would last throughout the entire episode. The show's writers cleverly crafted situations that would highlight the couple's contrasting personalities and quirks, making for a show that was both relatable and hilarious. Despite their constant bickering, there was always an underlying love and affection between John and Blanche that would shine through in moments of vulnerability or tenderness. The show's popularity led to a spinoff TV series, as well as numerous imitations and parodies in popular culture. In this episode, Blanche, yearning for the patter of little feet, adopts a puppy resulting in hilarious consequences.
