My Favorite Husband began in 1948 as a radio sitcom on CBS Radio, with Lucille Ball and Richard Denning as Liz and George Cugat. In later episodes the name was changed from Cugat to Cooper. The series was adapted for television in 1953 and was the basis for the TV sitcom I Love Lucy.
