Dr. Mitchel Alpert is the director of Pediatric Cardiology at K. Hovnanian Children's Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. He is founder of Alpert, Zales, and Castro Pediatric Cardiology located in Brick and Middletown, New Jersey. Dr. Alpert's expertise includes the treatment of congenital heart defects, a topic he has written about. He served with the Sports Science Committee of the United States Tennis Association for close to a decade where he studied the effects of high intensity exercise in young athletes and helped to develop safety protocols.
