Description

Asymmetrical Dot is Stephen Emmer’s most intimate album to date: a sonic meditation on identity, loss, renewal and the quiet power of imbalance. Created during a year marked by personal transition, the passing of his mother, the birth of his first grandchild, the loss of a close friend and a health crisis, the music moves gently between departure and arrival.

Drawing from Indonesian traditions, Western chamber music and atmospheric sound art, the album blends sustained tones, contrapuntal textures and wordless voices into an open, contemplative landscape. An international ensemble gives the work its layered global character, where difference remains audible rather than unified. Asymmetrical Dot ultimately reveals asymmetry not as a flaw, but as a source of strength, continuity and dialogue across generations.
