It seems almost axiomatic that darkness precedes light. That's the way it was when G-d created the world, and that's the way it so often plays out in our experience. Light is attained only after struggling with and vanquishing the darkness.
But what is darkness? Is it merely the absence of light, or does it have its own independent energy? These questions have been discussed and debated over the centuries by laymen and philosophers alike. And now, we have the chance to examine what the Jewish mystics have to say about this.
In this session of Kabbalah Cafe we explore the soul of darkness and discover why darkness is, indeed, a necessary key to light.
