Are we going around in circles when it comes to improving the safety of our roundabouts?
The safety of roads infrastructure in Ennis was a topic of discussion at the most recent meeting of the county town's local elected representatives as Fianna Fáil Councillor Antoinette Baker-Bashua tabled a motion calling for the installation of safe pedestrian crossings at all roundabouts in the town.
The meeting heard that Ennis's roundabouts lack clearly defined pedestrian crossings, "leaving pedestrians without priority and creating unsafe conditions".
Before having a closer inspection of some of the roundabouts deemed unsafe in the town, Clare FM's Seán Lyons spoke with Councillor Baker-Bashua to get her thoughts on the issue.
