Domestic tourism numbers in Clare have reached a ten-year high. New CSO figures, which don't include daytrips show that 810,000 Irish visitors stayed overnight in this county last year. It marks a 20% increase on the 674,000 visitors that stayed overnight in Clare in 2023, with only counties Galway, Cork, Kerry, Wexford, Dublin and Donegal recording greater domestic tourism numbers last year. Hotel Woodstock Co-Owner and Clare Tourism Advisory Forum Chair Sean Lally says while it's extremely positive news, the cost of doing business needs to be tackled to harness the full benefits.
