Description

I am excited to introduce this week’s Guardian of Virtue. Shane has been a friend and musical mentor for several years now. I really appreciate his musical skill. The way he takes care of every note that he puts on a page as he composes shows me that he really does Guard the virtue of music. I’m excited for you to get to know my friend Shane! @shane.michelsen

Shane Mickelsen is a composer/conductor holding a bachelor’s of music degree in vocal performance from Utah State University and a master’s of music in music composition from the University of Utah. His music can be streamed on all major platforms, and has performed in Europe, Asia, the Utah State Capitol, and the White House.

Shane primarily works to arrange and produce orchestral music for classical and classical crossover artists. He has written for and with artists such as The Piano Guys, Paul Cardall, 92 Keys, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Lamb of God is his favorite work to conduct. Shane loves the process of auditioning and coaching soloists, rehearsing and refining the choir and orchestra, and seeing the work touch people’s lives.
