Norman Lamb MP, Minister for Care Services, spoke at The King's Fund Integrated care summit in May 2013. He spoke of his desire to see a fully integrated system of health and social care in England, which would help us to deal with the growing demand on care from older people. He suggested that the old health and social care systems could no longer withstand the challenges of today, and that an integrated system could provide the quality and efficiency sabings that are needed.
