Dr Richard Barker OBE, Director of CASMI, shares his thoughts on the barriers and solutions to achieving greater innovation in the NHS. He emphasis that, as economic pressures build, innovation must be seen as the source of solutions, but financial short-sightedness, vested interests and cultural resistance are enormous barriers to this.
