Mudshow returns with their first offering of new music since their 2024 debut album DESTINY! Showcasing a new, even more aggressive direction for Memphis, Tennessee’s most violent band, the new single “Villain” serves as a tribute to one of the pioneers of modern joshi wrestling and the subject of recent Netflix series Queen of Villains, the mighty Dump Matsumoto. “Chained and caned and stabbed with scissors” becomes a bloodthirsty mantra in this 7-minute monstrosity of a song that signals a stylistic change almost as dramatic as Matsumoto’s wars in 1980s All Japan Women’s Pro-Wrestling against the likes of Chigusa Nagayo, Lioness Asuka, and Yukari Omori. Almost.
