If you can’t be
a movie star
no matter how
hard you've tried
don’t chase that dream,
you won’t get far,
many died unsatisfied.
Reduce your plans to
something less
impossible to do
there are little theatres
everywhere
looking for folks
just like you.

consider yourself lucky
they spend their terms
just chasing votes
till the costs it
drives them buggy
and quite lately
being a Senator
might also leave you bloody
the mood out there is cruddy
reputations are being muddied.
Put your high hopes
way up on a shelf
just be yourself
find other ways
that you can help
just be yourself
you’ll be happier
with better health
just be yourself
and you’ll live a life
that holds the wealth
of knowing who you are
and you will be appreciated
more than any movie star
if some crazy dream
starts bugging you
and both your
palms start itching
just scratch them hard
and tell your stupid muse
to quit his bitching
cause it easier to just be you
no matter what you do.
This world is
full of phonies
people envy
till their blue
they spend their
whole life being fans
of folks who did
not understand
that fame and f
ortune has a price
being someone else
ain’t always nice.....
Cause when they
grow old they realize
that who they were
in other’s eyes
by aging has grown
compromised
And politicians
face demise.......
when their promises
become just lies
and they wind up
shrunk way down to size
back to being nobody
like they were
when being themselves
was not a cure
then they think of
all the suffering
they endured
that left them
with nothing
but being obscur!!
So put your high hopes
