What once was ours
has been chilled,
freeze framing
sweetest love fulfilled,
In so many ways
though it wasn’t
what we willed,
The sweet wine
of our passion
left distilled
Into damp tears
sadly spilled....
And I don’t know why
loneliness chose to bill
both of our souls
with its bitter pills,
two hearts that beat
as one now stilled
turning into agony
all that once
left us thrilled.
Sometimes love just dies
With no reasons why
No lies, no lust
no breech of trust,
Love just takes
it’s last breath
and turns to dust
and that’s what
happened to both of us.
The spark expired
and all love’s fires
burned out and
were reshaped,
into a chill we can’t escape
no sweaters draped,
no furnaces baked,
can ever remake
how we once felt,
sometimes love just melts
In an artic blast
and all that’s left
our memories from our past,
endlessly recast into why’s
and how’s....
but I do
know somehow
we will still be friends
far from what was tropical
Coming just around the bend,
Bundled up with someone else
to keep us warmed
from the love we knew
and it’s bitter storm.
as what we were
takes another form
and joins that list
that sadly marks
where we both note
our past broken hearts
as we begin
a brand new start.
Hoping what chilled
has at last been killed
by new loves; fulfilled
from what once thrilled,
two hearts now stilled
and left distilled
into our tears that
sadly spilled
I will cherish all
your memories
and hope that you
remember me
and all that we
once Dreamed we’d be.
all that we
once Dreamed we’d be.
and I'm sorry
for how it turned out
you see,
you and me.
