Conversation,
Communication
is Love’s umbilical cord
between me and you…
It is essential
and preferential,
to silence and solitude.
For when I
am too quiet
you question me,
to see if there
is something wrong??
and I reply reassuringly,
“That I was pondering
some other pressing matter.
never realizing that
you were there
to help me through.”
That is what conversing
is meant to do,
re-attaching that
sweet bond
between our voices
and our thoughts,
never wanting you
in any way to
become overwrought.
And if by some
strange fluke
my tongue would
become dumb
by a stroke of fate
or an illness that
would end my chance
to conversate,
my talks with you
would not succumb.
I would communicate
with just my eyes,
sharing our love
beyond compromise,
and I would scribble
endless volumes
etched on Post-It Notes,
stuck everywhere.....
to show you just
how much I care.
My conversations
with you take on
many other lovely forms,
“I express myself best
in the silence of a kiss
Laughter whispers
in my eyes
and love is warm
upon my fingertip!”
You will always be
my sounding board,
always beside me,
never denied me,
and together we will
find what says it best.
Because Conversation
and communication,
is Love’s umbilical cord
between me and you……..
